PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable processing for turning image data from a control apparatus into printing image data according to the type of a printing tape and the characteristics of each tape printer.SOLUTION: A computer 3 includes: image data generating sections 61, 68 for generating image data A; and an image data transmitting section 62 for transmitting the image data A to a tape printer 2. The tape printer 2 includes: a processing pattern table storing section 85 storing a processing pattern for each tape type; a tape type determining sensor 37 for determining the tape type of a placed printing tape T; and a communication interface 74 for receiving the image data A. The printer 2 is also provided with: printing image data generating sections 71, 84 for generating image data A for printing by processing the image data A based on the processing pattern according to the type of tape, and tape printing sections 31, 36 for printing the generated printing image data A on the printing tape T. |
