PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based coating composition capable of forming a coating film excellent in adhesion to a polyolefin material, smoothness, oil resistance, and water resistance, and to provide a coating method of a molded product of a plastic resin such as polyolefin.SOLUTION: The water-based coating composition comprises a modified polyolefin resin and a hydrazine derivative. The modified polyolefin resin having a carboxyl group and a ketonic carbonyl group in side chains is obtained by a ring-opening addition reaction between a compound, which comprises a reactive group capable of performing a ring-opening addition reaction with an acid anhydride group and the ketonic carbonyl group, and an acid anhydride group-containing polyolefin resin. |
