PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and efficiently producing a benzodioxane compound.SOLUTION: The target benzodioxane compound is obtained by reacting a phenol compound with a carbonate compound in the presence of a base. This method can produce the target substance industrially, simply and efficiently with high selectivity. If the benzodioxane compound obtained is reacted with a Lewis acid, a catechol compound that is a starting material for electrolyte salts for lithium secondary batteries, starting material for anion receptors for lithium secondary batteries and the like can be obtained simply and efficiently. |
