A digital check transaction system including a receiver which receives, from a requestor, a request for confirming whether a check can be endorsed to a recipient to complete a transaction between the requestor and the recipient, a processor which processes the received request to determine whether the check can be endorsed, and a transmitter which, in response to the processor determining whether the check can be endorsed, transmits a response to the requestor indicating whether the check can be endorsed.
