PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing device capable of reducing the weight and size thereof, and improving the strength and durability of a bearing, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the wheel bearing device provided with a hub ring 4 integrally having a wheel mounting flange 6, the wheel mounting flange 6 includes a flange body 23 projected in a pedal shape on an end on the outer side of the hub ring 4, and a reinforcing plate 24 joined with the flange body 23. The reinforcing plate 24 includes a flange part 24a which is formed out of a plate by the plastic working, and abutted on a side face 23a on the outer side of the flange body 23, and a cylindrical pilot part 24b extending in the axial direction from the flange part 24a. A telescopic part 25 is projected from the outside diameter part of the flange part 24a, and housed over the outside diameter of the flange body 23, and bolt insertion holes 27 are formed by the punching from the flange body 23 side at an equal spacing in the circumferential direction while the flange body 23 and the reinforcing plate 24 are joined with each other. |
