PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen production apparatus which keeps the temperature of a selective oxidation reaction unit at an appropriate temperature with a simple structure without using external heating equipment such as a heater, and to provide a fuel cell system.SOLUTION: In the hydrogen production apparatus, a water evaporation flow path 31 is configured so as to be arranged parallel and adjacent to a selective oxidation reaction unit 8 and to form water vapor by flowing water and recovering heat from a selective oxidation catalyst layer A8. Further, a heat insulating unit 32 is arranged between the selective oxidation catalyst layer A8 and the water evaporation flow path 31. The heat insulating unit 32 has a thermal conductivity lower than that of a wall member constituting the selective oxidation reaction unit 8. Thereby, the temperature of the selective oxidation catalyst layer A8 of the selective oxidation reaction unit 8 is prevented from being excessively lowered even when such a structure that the water evaporation flow path 31 and the selective oxidation reaction unit 8 are arranged side by side is adopted. Further, lowering of temperature is suppressed with such a simple structure that only the heat insulating unit 32 is arranged between the water evaporation flow path 31 and the selective oxidation catalyst layer A8. |
