PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydrogenated HAR (Heavy Aromatic Residue) oil having no odor and having excellent stability by drastically suppressing deactivation of a catalyst.SOLUTION: In the method for producing the hydrogenated HAR oil, a HAR oil is hydrogenated in the presence of hydrogen using a hydrogenation catalyst under conditions of 4 to 20 MPa hydrogen partial pressure, 0.05 to 2 hLHSV, 200 to 450°C reaction temperature and 100 to 1,300 NL/L hydrogen/oil ratio. |
