The invention relates to a protective tube comprising a plurality of warp-knitted yarns defining a band having longitudinal edges that are in contact with or overlap one another, defining a substantially circular cross-section, at least one of said yarns being a monofilament yarn. The invention is characterised in that at least one of the yarns is moved over two or more needles, forming a loop at least every two courses and at most every twenty-four courses. Consequently, the protective tube can be curved more than currently known tubes and closed completely without having to be heated in order for the band to adopt the tubular shape thereof.
