FIELD: process engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operation of coiler collapsible drum intended for coiling rolled strip. Proposed method of operating drum coiler made up of electromagnets radially driven by collapsible segments arranged along circumference and/or by tie rod consists in that supply voltage is cut in on starting strip front end coiling, reduced in coiling and increased on strip removal. ^ EFFECT: power saving, longer life, better control over retaining force. ^ 2 dwg |
