PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet, which does not need to use expensive facilities and can easily and efficiently decrease iron loss.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet includes: subjecting a steel sheet to a finish annealing process; and introducing local distortion into the surface of the grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet by making particles of any one or both of ice and dry ice collide with a linear region which extends in a direction of intersecting the rolling direction, on the surface of the grain-oriented electromagnetic steel sheet having a tension insulation film formed thereon.
