PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid misfeeding and double-feeding of printing paper, eliminate preprocessing such as performing separation work in advance by manual work, secure stable paper feeding operation, eliminate a factor of the double feeding, protect a paper face, and eliminate adverse influence on a printing quality.SOLUTION: In this paper feeding method, a pickup roller 3 is placed on the uppermost surface Ptu of the printing paper Pt, etc. set in a tray 2, and the printing paper Pt is sent forward by rotating the pickup roller 3 by a rotational driving mechanism 4 when feeding the paper. The pickup roller 3 is arranged in a home position Xh positioned in the rear by a predetermined distance from a front end position of the printing paper Pt, and when feeding the paper, the pickup roller 3 is locked in a nonrotating state, and is moved forward by a predetermined stroke Ls in the parallel direction to the paper face of the printing paper Pt. In the middle of this movement or after finishing the movement, the pickup roller 3 is rotated by releasing a lock. |
