PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of recovering from a power saving mode to a normal use state within a suitable startup time corresponding to a use state of the imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a portable imaging apparatus 1 having an image display section 12 for displaying out an image acquired by an imaging section 10, including: a proximity sensor 13 for detecting proximity of a human body to the image display section 12; an acceleration sensor 17 for detecting movement of the imaging apparatus 1; and a power supply control section 15 which has a plurality of power saving modes where a power saving state is increased gradually from a maximum power supply state and changes a speed for shifting from the maximum power supply state to the plurality of power saving modes step by steps on the basis of a detection result of the acceleration sensor 17 when the proximity sensor 13 does not detect the proximity of the human body any more. |
