PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-speed data communication via a light source comprising a combination of a light emitting diode and a phosphor.SOLUTION: While a light-emitting device 1 emits an illumination light which is obtained by synthesizing a blue light emitted from a blue color light-emitting diode 11 and a yellow light emitted by exciting the phosphor 12 by the blue light, it modulates an electrical signal for driving the blue color light-emitting diode 11 in accordance with a data signal. A reception device 2 receives the synthesized light, converts it to the electrical signal, and demodulates the converted electrical signal to the data signal. The light-emitting device 1 is provided with an encoding circuit 15 to remove a frequency component of the phosphor 12 included in the electrical signal.
