PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device which is usable by determining automatically the state of a PND (Portable Navigation Device) used by a user, and by setting it into a correct using mode, regardless of the fact whether power supply from a vehicle or connection of an external power source is prepared or not.SOLUTION: The navigation device has a constitution including a present position detection means for detecting a present position, a route searching means for searching a route from the present position to a destination, a route guiding means for guiding along a route based on a search result by the route searching means, a map storage means for preserving map data, a determination means for determining which of an in-car mode and a walking mode is used, a mode changing means for changing a mode into the in-car mode or the walking mode, and a display means for displaying the search result by the route searching means and the map data. |
