PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable high-output semiconductor laser array and a method for manufacturing the semiconductor laser array.SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser array 100 comprises: a substrate 101 that is provided, in a main surface, with recessed step portions 101a, 101b, 101c that are long in the direction parallel to the exit direction of laser light; a laminated structure; and a plurality of optical waveguides 113a, 113b, 113c that are formed to be parallel to the step portions 101a, 101b, 101c. The distance from the widthwise center of at least one optical waveguide among the plurality of optical waveguides 113a, 113b, 113c to the widthwise center of the step portions 101a, 101b, 101c is different from the distance from the widthwise center of the other optical waveguides among the plurality of optical waveguides 113a, 113b, 113c to the widthwise center of the step portions 101a, 101b, 101c. |
