摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a discharge resistor 20 to a fuel cell 6 in a proper timely manner during the start-up of the fuel cell.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system is configured as follows. A bypass path 10 is selected so that reformed gas from a reforming device 1 is supplied to a burner 2. From that state, main paths 9a, 9b are selected so as to start the supply of the reformed gas to the fuel cell 6 and to supply anode off-gas to the burner 2. On that occasion, it is configured to detect ignition of the off-gas in the burner 2. The discharge resistor 20 is connected to the fuel cell 6 at the timing based on the ignition detection (simultaneously with the ignition detection or at connection timing set on the basis of the learned ignition timing). After that, when an output voltage of the fuel cell 6 exceeds a prescribed voltage, an external load 17 is connected to the fuel cell 6 in place of the discharge resistor 20.
