PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer that facilitates detection of the tape end in a tape printer for performing tape-printing while drawing out a tape wound around a core.SOLUTION: The tape printer is configured as follows. A motor monitoring device 90 comprises a motor driver 71a and an encoder 80. The motor monitoring device monitors an operating state of a feed motor 55. A tape-end detector 77a detects the tape end of a tape on the basis of the monitoring result of the operating state of the feed motor, thereby allowing detection of the tape end of the tape to be relatively simply and surely executed. In this case, the motor driver 71a or the like for monitoring the operating state of the feed motor 55 is an existing motor driver provided in order to adjust or the like the feed motor 55 to a fixed speed. Therefore, it is unnecessary to separately provide a new sensor or the like to detect the tape end. Consequently, it achieves a simple configuration. |
