PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and high performance cutting edge exchange type ball end mill which can improve a reliability and realize a long life by increasing the thickness of a section vertical to a rotating axis of a tool so as to enhance the rigidity of a tool body and reduce a damage to the tool body or a chattering vibration.SOLUTION: In the cutting edge exchange type ball end mill having two cutting inserts detachably attached to the end of the tool body, the end part of the tool body has insert seats to which the two cutting inserts of the same form are attached. In the tool body, when a section passing the rotating axis of the tool and parallel to an insert seat surface is seen, a width in the sectional form parallel to the seat surface which is vertical to the rotating axis of the tool is larger from the end part of the tool body to a base body part. |
