PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backup data management device which can execute processing for reducing the number of generations of backup.SOLUTION: In the backup data management device which manages backup data which is duplication of data and/or a program for M generations (M is a natural number), M areas for recording the backup data and an index which instructs an area for recording are provided, wherein the index is incremented in each backup processing to perform a circulation instruction of the M areas and thus, the M areas are sequentially circulated and used to perform the backup processing, and when the number of generations to be managed is reduced to N (N is a natural number) which is smaller than M, N areas from before one to before N in a reverse order from an area which the index instructs at present are left, other areas are deleted, and the index is set to the area before N. |
