PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording/reproducing apparatus which can increase a storage capacity of a recording medium.SOLUTION: The optical recording/reproducing apparatus includes a slider 20 that has a medium facing surface that faces an optical recording medium 200 and moves along a recording/reproducing face of the optical recording medium, a metal nanoparticle structure 22 that is provided in the medium facing surface of the slider, a light illumination device 30 that illuminates the optical recording medium and the metal nanoparticle structure with the light that has polarization components in a direction perpendicular to the recording/reproducing face, and detection devices 31, 33, 34, 35 and 50 that detect Rayleigh scattering light that is generated from the optical recording medium being located close to the metal nanoparticle structure, and is intensified by the metal nanoparticle structure. |
