PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily set a number or a character string to be used for authentication.SOLUTION: The communication device includes: a storage part storing a mail address and format data of e-mail in advance; an authentication part which performs authentication between the communication device and another communication device; a mail transmission part which transmits first e-mail based on the format data to the mail address when the authentication part fails in authentication; a mail reception part which receives second e-mail which is generated in accordance with the first e-mail transmitted from the mail transmission part and includes authentication information to be used in authentication between the communication device and another communication device; and an authentication information extraction part which extracts the authentication information from the second e-mail received by the mail reception part. If the authentication part fails in authentication, the authentication part uses the authentication information extracted by the authentication information extraction part to perform authentication between the communication device and the other communication device.
