PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a modulation class from being set higher than necessary when user data to be transmitted to a communication destination device are absent or the user data to be transmitted are extremely small.SOLUTION: This radio communication method using a radio communication device selecting a modulation class in accordance with transmission path quality includes: steps S11A, S11A of detecting a data volume of user data to be transmitted to a communication destination device; steps S12A, S12B of determining whether the detected data volume is not larger than a predetermined data volume; and steps S13A, 13B of selecting a modulation class corresponding to the predetermined data volume when the detected data volume is determined to be not larger than the predetermined data volume.
