PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness in user's operation for reading a document, in an image processing apparatus which reads a document image to generate image data.SOLUTION: A calculation unit 71 calculates a maximum amount of data which image data can take per page of a document to be read by an image reading unit 2 and calculates, on the basis of the maximum amount of data and a predetermined upper limit amount of data, the maximum number of pages which can be made into data within the upper limit amount of data. A display/input panel 61 displays information indicating the maximum number of pages to notify the user. When the start of the reading operation is instructed by user's operation, a control unit 7 makes the image reading unit 2 start the reading operation of the document. |
