PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melanin production inducer capable of inducing melanin production in a pigment cell by a simple operation, and to provide an evaluation method of a test material capable of evaluating a whitening effect of the test material by a quick and simple operation.SOLUTION: The melanin production inducer includes at least one kind of factor selected from a group composed of IL-8, CTGF and IL-IF9. In the evaluation method of the test material, the test material is brought into contact with a cell group in which melanin production is induced by bringing the factor into contact with the pigment cell-including cell group, and the amount of melanin is measured, and the whitening effect of the test material is evaluated based on the measured melanin amount. |
