PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device or the like facilitating the imaging by synthesizing image data in broad dynamic range of natural movement, without increasing a burden of an image processing.SOLUTION: An image pickup device conducting an imaging by alternately repeating a long time exposure LE and a short time exposure SE drives an image pickup element in a first drive mode for making a first time interval between an exposure completion time of a pixel by the SE and an immediately after exposure start time of a pixel by the LE and a second time interval between an exposure completion time of a pixel by the LE and an immediately after exposure start time of a pixel by the SE into time intervals (e) equal to each other.
