The gas torch for gas storage container of biogas plant, comprises a vertical connecting tube (46) guided from the gas storage container to an atmosphere on which upper end section of an igniting device (56) is mounted, where the igniting device is connected by an electrical conductor (58) having an actuating device (62), which has a pressure sensor detecting a pressure into the gas storage container. The pressure sensor is connected with an actuator for opening and closing a valve (66) attached into the connecting tube and an ignition voltage generator. The gas torch for gas storage container of biogas plant, comprises a vertical connecting tube (46) guided from the gas storage container to an atmosphere on which upper end section of an igniting device (56) is mounted, where the igniting device is connected by an electrical conductor (58) having an actuating device (62), which has a pressure sensor detecting a pressure into the gas storage container. The pressure sensor is connected with an actuator for opening and closing a valve (66) attached into the connecting tube and an ignition voltage generator, which has a network-independent power supply element that consists of a battery. The connecting tube is attached into the opening of a gas dome, and is directly mounted in the opening in a cover of the gas storage container. The valve is formed as a shutoff damper or diaphragm valve. The actuator consists of a pneumatic cylinder for closing and a spring element for opening the valve, which is connected by a measuring data line with an anemometer.
