When the absolute value of the trigger data exceeds a first threshold value, and that state has continued for at least a predetermined time t1, the control unit (80) determines that light incidence has started, and starts a charge accumulation operation for each pixel, and when the absolute value of the trigger data has dropped below a second threshold value, and that state has continued for at least a predetermined time t2, light incidence is determined to have ended, and a charge transfer operation and a data output operation are carried out on each pixel.
