THIN SLICE MATERIAL FOR CIGARETTE AND CIGARETTE

A thin-slice material for cigarettes and a cigarette using same. The thin-slice material for cigarettes comprises a thin-slice base which contains 0.1 to 20 percent by mass of tea polyphenol. The combustible part of the cigarette comprises at least 3 percent by mass of shreds of said thin-slice material, which are produced by slicing said thin-slice material. Harm-reducing tea polyphenol is added to the cigarette by means of said thin-slice material as a carrier, solving the problem in mainstream cigarette smoke of tar-clogged filters reducing the activity of the tea polyphenol, and solving also the problem of dosage limitations upon tea polyphenol when same is added to shredded tobaccos. At the same time, the amount of harmful ingredients in sidestream smoke are decreased, and full use is made of the harm-reducing effect of tea polyphenol.
