<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring a BOD highly sensitively using a eucaryotic microorganism. <P>SOLUTION: In the BOD measuring method for detecting or quantifying an organic substance amount in a solution containing an organic substance by metabolizing the organic substance with the eucaryotic microorganism, and by measuring a metabolic activity of the eucaryotic microorganism, the organic substance is metabolized in the presence of an oxidized type fat-soluble mediator and an oxidized type hydrophobic mediator, when metabolized with the eucaryotic microorganism, and a generated reduced type hydrophobic mediator is detected or quantified by an electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
