Diagnosis of radiometric detectors

The device has a sample and hold component (106) for obtaining information concerning to amplitude of a pulse measured by a radiometric detector, and a microprocessor (108) for comparing the information with reference values. The microprocessor executes error diagnosis for detecting increased rate of deep pulses of photosensitive components e.g. photomultiplier (104) and photodiode, electromagnetic compatible radiations, temperature drift and damage of a scintillator (103) of a measuring device. A memory unit (116) stores the values that correspond to reference amplitude distribution. An independent claim is also included for a method for diagnosing a radiometric detector.
