The invention relates to a board-like or strip-like component (1.1), in particular for use as a furniture component or wall, ceiling or floor panel, comprising a carrier material (10) made of wooden material, a decoration (11) printed onto the carrier material, a transparent, glossy varnish layer (13) following the decoration, and a subsequent coating varnish layer (14) having a three-dimensional structure. In order to provide such a component having a used or antique appearance and a feel that appears natural at favorable manufacturing costs, the invention provides for the varnish structure thereof to be selected such that the coating varnish layer (14) causes the effect of a surface structure with a changing level of gloss, wherein the surface of the component (1.1) has a gloss difference of at least 25 gloss units in at least one direction running parallel thereto, based on a linear surface distance of 20 mm. |
