An automatic meter reading (AMR) system comprising a first watertight container that houses a data logging circuit and a second watertight container housing a power source or a sensor node. The power source may be a battery. The containers may be separate and linked by a power carrying cable. The containers may be removably attached to one another and power transmitted through contacts arranged to engage on attachment. The containers may be attached via complementary engagement means, which may be by sliding or snap-fit means. The first container may connect to a meter or a meter sensor. The first container may comprise a transmitting unit which may comprise an antenna. A third or fourth container may be arranged as a sensor node. The system may comprise a third container housing a second data logging circuit. The container may comprise at least a first part and a second part. |
