PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of displaying an image of a DVD on a display and instantaneously notifying the image to a user in a reproduction mode requesting the user operation when listening to only the sound of a DVD player via a speaker. SOLUTION: The display device comprises a display, a navigation device capable of providing map information, and a disk reproduction device capable of reproducing images and sound information recorded in a recording medium. The display device is capable of switching the display state of the display when listening to the sound reproduced by the disk reproduction device via a speaker into a first mode for displaying map information and a second mode for displaying images obtained from the disk reproduction device. When the disk reproduction device is transferred to the mode requesting the user operation in the first mode, the display state on the display can be forcibly switched to the second mode.
