A method and associated system of cutting a glass strip (2), the method including the steps of feeding the strip (2) along a straight path (8); detecting the travelling speed of the strip (2); and scoring and breaking the strip (2) transversely on the basis of a travelling speed corrected by automatically multiplying the detected travelling speed by a correction factor; the correction factor being determined by determining, a given time after the scoring operation, the actual position of the score line (30) along the path (8), and determining the difference (K) between the actual position of the score line (30), and a theoretical position in which the score line (30) would be located when the travelling speed of the strip (2) equals the detected travelling speed.
