<p>The device has a current transformer (6) provided in a supply line (5) of a heating field (4) to measure current phase angle of alternating current supply voltage (1) based on a current value. An analog-to-digital (A/D) converter (7) passes the current value to a volatile memory (10) i.e. dynamic RAM (DRAM). A microcontroller (8) compares the current value stored in the volatile memory with reference values stored in a non-volatile memory (11) i.e. electrically EPROM (EEPROM), and triggers a warning signal based on a comparison result. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an infrared surface heating device.</p> |
