The device (1) has a holding element (16) movable into an engaging position during insertion into an opening of a carrier part (5) e.g. carrier rail (6) and mounting rail (7), based on contact between the element and part. The element is movable into a reverse engagement position by reverse movement of the element after insertion into the opening so that an edge of the part is engaged behind the element for form-fit connection between the element and part. The element is movable from the engaging position into the reverse engagement position by a flexible element (8) e.g. wire spring (34).
