<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode active substance having a large discharge capacity at a large current and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The surface of a spinel type lithium-manganese multiple oxide expressed by general formula: Li<SB>1+x</SB>Mn<SB>2-x</SB>O<SB>4+δ</SB>(0≤x≤0.33) is modified with a tungsten-containing oxide at a rate of 0.01-5.00 mol%. The modifying amount of the tungsten-containing oxide is preferably 0.5-3.00 mol%. Further, preferable tungsten-containing oxide used for the modification has a 100% particle diameter (D<SB>100</SB>) of ≤5 μm and a 50% particle diameter (D<SB>50</SB>) of ≤3 μm. Preferable tungsten-containing oxide is one kind or a mixture of tungsten oxide and lithium tungstate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
