An adjustable position load bearing shoulder includes a shaft having an exterior surface with a recessed engagement profile. An engagement member is provided that has an exterior surface having exterior threads. The engagement member also has an engagement engageable with the engagement profile on the shaft. The engagement member defines an external wedge surface. An annular shoulder member is provided that has an interior surface with interior threads engageable with the exterior threads on the engagement member to selectively position the shoulder member. A wedge member is provided that has an internal wedge surface. The internal wedge surface of the wedge member engages the external wedge surface on the engagement member to lock the engagement into engagement with the engagement profile of the shaft. There are fasteners between the wedge member and the shoulder member that prevent rotational movement of the shoulder member, thereby maintaining the shoulder member in the selected position.
