This invention aims to provide a method for continuously making pull-on disposable wearing articles having front and rear waist regions adapted to be connected with each other along transversely opposite side edges thereof by means of fastener means. A web (103) having first side edge (101a) and second side edge (101b) extending in parallel to each other is fed in a machine direction (MD) . The web (103) is formed with first fastener means (116) on both sides of a region defining a line (111) extending in a cross direction (CD) which is orthogonal to the machine direction (MD). After second fastener means (124) on a fastener base sheet (123) have respectively been engaged with the respective first fastener means (116), a region extending between these first fastener means (116) is cut away from the web (103) . Then the web (103) is folded in two so that its first and second side edges (101a, 101b) may fall into line and a region of the web (103) located aside toward the second side edge (101b) is bonded to the fastener base sheet (123) . Thereafter the web (103) is successively cut along the lines (111) extending in the cross direction (CD) to form segments of the web (103) each having a desired dimension in the machine direction (MD) . Each of these segments is destined to become the pull-on wearing article (1) having front and rear waist regions adapted to be detachably connected with each other in the vicinity of the transversely opposite side edges thereof extending in the cross direction (CD) by means of the first and second fastener means (116, 124). |
