The device (5) has a condenser (8) supplying power to two spark plugs (6A, 6B). A switching unit (9) permits the condenser to be discharged in the two spark plugs in an alternate manner to generate asynchronous sparks between the two spark plugs. A management system (11) manages failure in an event of failure of one of the two spark plugs such that the condenser discharges in other spark plug. An electronic board (7) controls the condenser, where frequency of discharge of the condenser ranges between 1 and 10 Hz.
