The device has a fixed unit (7) integrated to a wall of a room. A moving element (18) is assembled slidingly on the fixed unit, and constitutes a telescopic fitment and mutual hooking units on the fixed unit. The hooking units include a series of openings (8) separated from each other, where the hooking units are aligned along an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis (A). A hook (12) comprises a nozzle engaged with an edge of the openings. The hook comprises an elastic retaining unit that maintains the nozzle in a hooking position on the edge of the openings. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing and adjusting height of a moving element in a fixed unit of a domestic ventilator.
