The controller (20) has a printed circuit (22) placed in interior of a case (21), and a thermal coupling unit (24) thermally coupling an inner face (212) of a case cover (211) with an upper face (231) of a hot electronic component (23). The cover is supported on a face (220) of the printed circuit in an area near the hot electronic component through a stop element (25), so that the thickness of the thermal coupling unit between the inner face of the case cover with the upper face of the hot electronic component is constrained by the shape of the stop element. The stop element is made of a dielectric material. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a controller of a motor vehicle.
