Disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which comprises a positive electrode (3), a negative electrode (4) that contains a negative electrode active material having a lithium adsorption/desorption potential of not less than 1.0 V (vs Li/Li+), and a nonaqueous electrolyte that is in a liquid state at 20°C and one atmosphere. The nonaqueous electrolyte battery is characterized in that the nonaqueous electrolyte contains at least one compound that is selected from among compounds having an isocyanate group and compounds having an amino group, a first compound that has a functional group represented by chemical formula (I), a nonaqueous solvent, and an electrolyte. In chemical formula (I), R1, R2 and R3 each represents a group that is selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups having 1-10 carbon atoms, alkenyl groups having 2-10 carbon atoms, and aryl groups having 6-10 carbon atoms. |
