PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optical compensation laminated film obtaining an optical compensation laminated film with high optical compensation performance by controlling refractive index anisotropy in simple steps.SOLUTION: The method for producing an optical compensation laminated film is equipped with the steps of: laminating a water-soluble compound layer 12 by coating an aqueous solution obtained by dissolving a water-soluble compound in water, whose refractive index anisotropy satisfies the following formula (1), on at least one surface of a substrate film 11; and obtaining the optical compensation laminated film by extending the laminated film 21 of the substrate film 11 and the water-soluble compound layer 12 in at least one direction. A formula (1) is nx=ny>nz. In the formula (1), nx is the maximum refractive index in a surface of the water-soluble compound; ny is a refractive index in the direction perpendicular to the direction nx in the surface of the water-soluble compound; and nz is a refractive index in the direction perpendicular to the refractive index directions of nx and ny. |
