METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HOT-DIP METAL-PLATED STEEL STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a hot-dip metal-plated steel strip by which edge over coat is prevented and excellent uniformity of the plating coating weight in the width direction is attained.SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the hot-dip metal plated steel strip in which the thickness of the deposited metal is controlled by blowing a gas from gas wiping nozzles oppositely arranged on both surfaces across the steel strip on the surface of the steel strip continuously pulled up from a molten metal plating bath, a baffle plate for intercepting the collision of the gases jetted from the gas wiping nozzles with each other is provided on the steel strip extended surface near both side end parts of the steel strip in the width direction. The baffle plate is formed to be thinner in the sheet thickness toward the plating bath direction and the tip angle is controlled to ≤88.8° and the tip thickness is controlled to ≤3 mm.
