<p>In order to achieve a data recording and playback configuration with which it is easy to determine whether data recorded on a recording medium contains 3D image data, when recording data on a recording medium, 3D image identification data, which indicates whether data to be recorded potentially contains 3D image data, is recorded as management information. Specifically, 3D identification data is recorded to a disk management file, or the like, which directly or indirectly specifies a playlist file, a playlist file having playback section specification information for a clip information file, or a clip information file that is set so as to correspond to a stream file, which is a storage file for image data. As a result of this configuration, a playback device can easily determine the presence of 3D images without analyzing the data to be played back.</p> |
