<p>In a transmitter using a DSTBC system to transmit signals, the DSTBC system is used to efficiently perform communications. In the transmitter using the DSTBC system to transmit signals, a frame, in which a sync word is placed at a predetermined position located after the front end of the frame, is used, and initial-value control means (31-35) establish, based on values located after the front end of the frame but before the sync word, an initial value of a differential encoding (differential encoder unit 15) when a DSTBC encoder, which is operative to process a transport object, is used to process the frame such that a signal point corresponding to the position immediately before the sync word is a certain point in the DSTBC encoder that is operative to process the transport object.</p> |
