PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display device which generates only a little amount of heat from an LED, achieves an expanded color gamut of an image to be displayed, facilitates the gradation control of the image to be displayed, and provides a bright projected image.SOLUTION: A frequency determination part 33 generates a frequency signal on the basis of a gradation signal extracted from an image signal and a mixture ratio signal set on the basis of chromaticity information and luminance information. An LED driving pulse generation part 31 generates an LED pulse signal on the basis of the frequency signal and a synchronization signal. An LED drive circuit 32 generates an LED driving signal being a pulse signal having a pulse width corresponding to the gradation signal, on the basis of the LED pulse signal and outputs the LED driving signal to LED light sources 2r, 2g and 2b. |
