PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic sphygmomanometer capable of accurately measuring a blood pressure even if a measurer inserts an upper arm therein from either direction, and suppressing the production cost.SOLUTION: This electronic sphygmomanometer 1 is disposed with K-sound detecting air bags at both arm insertion slot sides of a cylindrical arm band; determines which is located on the downstream side of the arm based on a difference in changes in the amplitudes of pulse waves detected from low frequency components or high frequency components of signals of both the K-sound detecting air bags, an occurrence time difference getting to a threshold or more, or the presence/absence of the signals getting to the threshold or more; and measures the blood pressure using the signal of the determined downstream-side K-sound detecting air bag. |
