PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device which comprises a compact image forming optical system that has a sufficient depth of field.SOLUTION: An image input device comprising an image input plate 30-1 with which a recording medium with an input image recorded thereon is brought into contact, an image light receiving element 32-1 that receives the input image formed on an image light receiving surface 32-2, and an image forming optical system 50 that forms an input image on an image light receiving surface. In the image forming optical system, unit image forming optical systems congruent with each other formed by combining two lenses are arrayed in the form of an array so that the optical axes of the unit image forming optical systems are in parallel with one another. The lateral magnification of the unit image forming optical system is set smaller than 1, and the unit image forming optical system is configured so that a size d of an intermediate real image 24 formed on the way of the unit image forming optical system is formed smaller than an optical axis separation S of the neighboring unit optical system. |
